Study Area, General Theme and Topics

The study area of this IP was the Municipality of Aveiro, in its broader regional context. The title was ‘Urban and Regional Planning in Aveiro – A European Approach’. Three topics were selected: a) Urban planning and governance in Aveiro, with particolar attention to the recent municipal plan for the city centre; b) Economic development policy, with particular attention to university-industry links and innovation policies; c) Sustainable development planning, with particular attention to the management of coastal areas and the municipal environmental plan.
