Study Area, General Theme and Topics

The study area of this IP covered the Cardiff Bay area and the Wales region, a region hard hit by deindustrialization. It focussed in particular on the regional innovation strategies deployed for the industrial sector and the Cardiff Bay redevelopment project based on tourism. Three topic teams were formed: a) Industrial structure and regional innovation strategies; b) Urban renewal strategies; c) Planning and the environment.
