Study Area, General Theme and Topics

The study area of the second edition of the IP in Bilbao remained the metropolitan area. The theme/title of the IP was again ‘Urban Change and Revitalization in Metropolitan Bilbao: Challenges for an Old Industrial Region’. Two topics ere retained from the previous year: a) Industrial restructuring and regional transformation: the changing role of Bilbao; b) Urban revitalization: shaping the future of a post-industrial metropolis.
